AP-5200
Silicone Roof Coating
Energy Efficient, Waterproof & Flexible
Description
Armour Proof AP-5200 Silicone Roof Coating is a one-part silicone elastomeric coating specifically designed for use in roofing applications. Once cured, this liquid applied silicone coating provides a durable, seamless, flexible, waterproof membrane that resists lateral movement, shear and will allow for normal expansion and contraction. Armour Proof AP-5200 Silicone Roof Coating provides greater UV protection than similar coatings and offers increased resistance to moisture penetration. AP-5200 provides excellent long term protection through exceptional weatherability properties. AP-5200 was specifically developed as a protective coating for single ply membranes, granulated modified bitumen, metal and sprayed-in-place polyurethane foam roofing. AP-5200 is also used as a top coat over Armour Proof AP-5100 Moisture Cure Polyurethane in membrane restorations. With excellent adhesion to all substrates and exceptional durability, AP-5200 is proven to provide excellent solar reflectivity, UV protection and long term waterproofing performance.

Coverage & Drying Time
Apply AP-5200 at a rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet per gallon per coat, according to the substrate and condition. A minimum of 25 mils DFT is recommended. Armour Proof AP-5100 Moisture Cure Polyurethane may be applied as a Primer/Base Coat at a rate of 1.25 gallons per 100 square feet, and then coated with the AP-5200 Silicone. Skin-Over in 30 minutes, Tack Free in 2 hours, Dry to touch in 6 hours
Application
AP-5200 may be applied by medium nap rollers, soft brushes or conventional airless spray equipment. Apply AP-5200 only to clean, dry, sound surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign matter. For best results, ambient temperature should be between 50-80°F. Higher temperatures will shorten the cure time and working time. Lower temperatures will lengthen the skin over, tack free and ultimate cure time. Sudden temperature declines may also result in dew formation on surfaces, which can prevent adhesion development. For best results, relative humidity should be above 20%. Lower humidity will slow the cure time significantly.
Preparation of Substrate
Surface must be pressure washed clean, free of all loose particles, dirt debris and other contaminants that could inhibit adhesion. An Armour Proof primer may be required for the particular substrate. Refer to the Armour Proof Coatings Specification for detailed instructions on how to prepare the specific substrate.
Limitations and Precautions
AVOID CONTAMINATION IN SEALED CONTAINERS. STORE AWAY FROM HEAT, SOURCES OF IGNITION AND INCOMPATIBLES. USE ONLY IN WELL VENTILATED AREAS. Do not inhale vapor or mist. Do not get on skin, in eyes or on clothing.
